Dr. Sheila Sweeney is an African-American Clinical Social Worker, trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy with a focus in Mind, Body, Spiritual connection. Dr. Sweeney is fascinated with the thoughts around the intersection of psychotherapy and spiritually healing practices to inform each individual journey through healing. The transmission and healing of inter generational, and the inter systemic healing process is a constant reflective thought that Dr. Sweeney holds, both personally, and professionally. Dr. Sweeney believes that all persons have a right to be healthy and to be healed.
Dr. Sweeney holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work with a minor in Criminal Justice from the College of St. Catherine; a Masters degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of St. Thomas and the College of St. Catherine; a PhD in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy from the Institute of Clinical Social Work; a certificate in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health from the University of Minnesota. Dr. Sweeney holds an Independent Clinical Social Work License (LICSW) as well as the Infant Mental Health Endorsement (IMH-E®) in the State of Minnesota.
